We would like to announce the development of the first Virtual Set by the Player’s Council: Shadow of the Past!
This 64-card set is designed to be a supplemental expansion to The Fellowship of the Ring block, meaning it is intended to be used in any format where sets 1-3 are legal. Once it is released on Gemp, it will be added to the PC-Fellowship, PC-Movie, and PC-Expanded formats as set V1.
Shadow of the Past will be released into playtesting in the coming weeks on Gemp, as cards are implemented and uploaded.
Some (but not all!) of the following 12 Days of Yuletide will be going over this set in more detail, including designer notes and spoiler lists, but for now, here is a small sample of what is to come:
As you can see, there are a variety of different card approaches, including:
- Cards which supplement existing working strategies
- Cards which prop up existing bad strategies
- Cards which add new combos and gameplay
- Cards which represent previously-untapped portions of Tolkien’s Legendarium
We are excited to finally be bringing these cards to light, after more than a year of quiet work!
